This Cancellation Policy outlines the rules and charges applicable when a ride booked through EV Smart is cancelled by either the user or the driver.
By using EV Smart, you agree to this policy.
1. Free Cancellation Window
- Users may cancel a ride within 2 minutes of booking without any cancellation charges
- After this period, cancellation charges may apply
2. User-Initiated Cancellation
Cancellation charges may apply in the following cases:
- Cancellation after driver has accepted the ride
- Cancellation after the free cancellation window
- Driver has already started traveling towards pickup location
The cancellation fee amount may vary depending on distance, time, and effort incurred by the driver.
3. Driver-Initiated Cancellation
Drivers may cancel a ride due to:
- Incorrect pickup location
- Rider not reachable
- Safety concerns or emergencies
In such cases:
- No cancellation charge will be applied to the user
- Repeated driver cancellations may be monitored and restricted by EV Smart
4. No-Show Policy
- If the user does not arrive at the pickup location within a reasonable time, the ride may be marked as a no-show
- Cancellation charges may be applied
5. Waiting Charges
- Drivers may wait for a limited time at the pickup location
- Additional waiting charges may apply after the allowed waiting period
6. Repeated Cancellations
Frequent or abusive cancellations by users may lead to:
- Temporary account restrictions
- Permanent suspension in severe cases
7. Exceptional Cases
Cancellation charges may be waived in certain situations, including:
- Technical issues with the app
- Driver not moving towards pickup location
- Other valid reasons evaluated by EV Smart
8. Payment of Cancellation Charges
Cancellation charges will be:
- Deducted from prepaid payments, OR
- Added to the user’s next ride
9. Policy Updates
EV Smart reserves the right to update this Cancellation Policy at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
